The project
Commissioned by DNM Industrial Firefighting BV, Hydrauvision developed an advanced foam container for a German refinery. This firefighting system was fully tailored to the client’s specific requirements.
The foam container is manufactured on a robust hook-arm frame and features a tank with a capacity of 7,000 litres of foam concentrate, provided by Dr. Sthamer. A hydraulically driven foam pump provides precise dosing of 0.1% to 3% of foam, tailored to the measured water flow of up to 16,000 litres per minute at 7 bar. The water-foam mixture can be targeted with a Ranger3+ monitor from Williams Fire & Hazard Control that allows various industrial scenarios to be effectively combated.
Our approach
The system was extensively tested at Rely on Nutec at Maasvlakte, where the customer’s team, consisting of 12 firefighters, participated in an extensive training session. During this session, a tank fire was simulated, where the new system successfully proved its power and reliability for a realistic emergency situation.
